Hazardous Bubble Basics - tribute model

Today, let’s take a look at my fan model for the album Hazardous Bubble Basics by Golemm, with album art by duccipedia!
The original album art that inspired the model.
Aside from being one of my favorite albums, I love the cover art of Hazardous Bubble Basics. Moreover, I love fighting games and ridiculous drip, and this character embodies both of those things perfectly. I think something about the ridiculously small Nightmare shirt is extremely funny, and the shapes and proportions on display are really fun and memorable, so I had a lot of interest going into this project.
As a whole, the character isn’t exactly complex to model- the shapes can largely be recreated through minor modifications to basic primitives like spheres and cylinders.
As you can see, the shapes are pretty simple and clean save for the hair.
If you’ve seen my Pram model, you’ll see that the face elements are implemented in much the same way, using free-floating planes that can freely warp into different expressions. This is perfect since we can see in the original art that elements like the marks on her cheeks are “floating” in front of the face, too.

Here’s a selection of a few of the other expressions.
watch out for, fumo-mo
And a rear view of the model:
The model achieves the outline look with a simple inverted hull cooperating with faux outlines textured directly onto certain regions of the model, such as the outline at the bottom of the pant legs, where the outline mesh refused to cooperate.
